The Laundry Workers met Wednesday evening in Contra Labor hall to discuss a more satisfactory wage scale, but no definite action was taken. Dr Hutton adjusted his glasses as the gathering moved between topics and a local merchant announced an expansion into new lines of goods on upper Main street drawing attention to shifts in trade.
T J Hanley of this city, president of the county Good Roads group, is named a member of the state committee for the upcoming Columbus meeting. Capt Lybarger joins the deaf institution, public works and soldiers and sailors orphan home committees and chairs the agricultural panel. A newsboy on Panhandle train No 0 narrowly escaped severe injury when a door in the smoker improperly opened as the train halted at the local station.
