Tale of Allegene Edricson and the Bear at Sir Nigel
In a 14th century frame Borde John flees Beaulieu under charges as Aliegen Edricson leaves his father’s will to seek a calling. He visits Minstead and meets Hordle John and Samkin Aylward. He rescues a damsel, earns the Seeman’s enmity, and journeys to Sir Nigel’s home where Gloom and a bear encounter unfold. Allegene learns the damsel is Nigel’s daughter.
