Death claims well known Sparta woman in Spartanburg area
Mrs Eastman Winans wife of S A Winans and lifelong Sparta township resident died at home in Wellnes morning age 74 after a lengthy illness. Her body lies with her son Albert J. Winans for viewing. She was born in April 1858 taught school, was an artist, and a Baptist church member. Survived by husband three sisters three brothers and a son. Funeral at Baptist church Saturday at 2 pm Rev M M Clark officiating. interment Rose Hill cemetery.

Truck Drivers Sent to Prison After Attack
A group of Erie men linked to the Truck Drivers Union attacked seven trucks near Fatsythe at about 2:30 am. George Kinter John Davis Carl Doerr were fined 25 dollars and sentenced to six months in Montes County Penitentiary. Edwin Wright and others involved were released earlier in Lal Scott Transportation Company dispute.
