Corry traders felt the blow of a Wall Street crash as "paper" profits in copper and other stocks tumbled amid a broad market decline. Local holders saw little realized loss while bank-backed issues edged higher for a partial rebound, with caution about slower recovery ahead.
United Press reports Brussels reaction to Princess Marie Jose and Crown Prince Humbert marriage plans interrupted by an assassination attempt, with renewed enthusiasm in gas, electric, oil and steel shares. Market notes show low openings, closing dips, and specific stock movements across Packard Radio and US Steel. A Clarkeburg crash triggers a local rescue, while Washington notes contempt verdicts and impending White House economic statements. New York stock turnover reaches 3.21 million shares by noon.

United Press report details the Grand Trunk ferry disaster on Lake Michigan. Captain Robert McKay and his crew of 52 to 57 were lost as waves overwhelmed the ship near Wind Point Racine Wis. The SOS was received Tuesday night and Coast Guard crews searched amid wreckage.
Mrs Lemia Goodhue mother of Mrs Calvin Coolidge died at Colleyn Dickinson hospital Hampton Massachusetts after 21 months illness. She passed away at 9 05 p m with her daughter the former first lady at the bedside. The Coolidge family physician Dr Justin Hayes attributed the death to arteriosclerosis.
Listings announce today’s top radio programs across networks including WEAF NSC and WABC CBS with The Story Hour and Philco Theatre Memories. Programs feature Cities Service Orchestra Armstrong Quakers and Mystery House across EST BST schedules.

The Pennsylvania General Transit Company seeks Public Service Commission approval to connect Corry with the East by bus. If approved, a new route will link Erie and Williamsport areas with Corry Warren Kane Johnsonburg Ridgway St Marys Renovo Lock Haven Jersey Shore and nearby communities.
The State Fish Hatchery near Corry, supervised by AG. Buller, completes shipments of hundreds of thousands of trout to streams statewide. Between 600,000 and 700,000 trout six to ten inches long have been sent this fall. Perry Mead supervised twenty tons of trout distributed around Columbus yesterday. Corry Club released seventy cans in nearby streams, with Frank T. England adding ten cans in other creeks. Bedole trout eggs arrived from Allentown for the local hatchery, Ted Dingle in charge. N. R. Buller, state commissioner of Ashortes, visited the Corry Hatchery, then planned to inspect Union City and the Tionesta propagation plant during his northwestern tour. Arthur Clark plans to move to Corry this winter.
