Mooseheart Night chaired by Elsie VanKeuren featured wrapped gifts under a decorated tree. Visitors from Titusville Women of the Moose attended while awards for enrollment and special honors went to Mrs. Dean Bashline and Ida Herman. Elks card party plan announced for Monday at the Elks Lodge with multiple chairmen and door prizes. Corry PTA Council held a tureen dinner at Conelway School with speakers on education and home schooling and the room count award won by Conelway.
The Ladies Fellowship held its annual dinner on Wednesday at the church. Thirty-six women enjoyed a ham dinner prepared by Mrs Murray Raymond and her committee with teenage helpers. Miss Betty DeGolier, missionary to Kenya, spoke and shared color slides. she plans to return to Africa in December. Lois Porter led a musical program. Mrs Jesse Warnken gave the invocation. A piano solo by Mrs Judy Clark, an accordion solo by Patty Kowalski, and a trumpet solo by Diane Porter with Darlene at piano closed the program. Columbus Ladies Aid met at Columbus United Church of Christ with Mrs. William Kafferlin as guest speaker on the United Fund functions and current drive. Mrs. Philip Wade presided, and a $20 donation was approved. Harvest supper set for October 28 with rummage bake sale October 16.
Phyllis Corbitt Circle met with 11 members plus two new guests Mrs Harvey Davis and Mrs Marilyn Wood. Devotions by Mrs Henry Rockman, business led by Mrs Frank McKnight, and plans for a Monday tureen dinner to form new circles. Deborah Circle met at East Congress Street with 18 members. happiness topic discussed. officers to be elected at church meeting. Children’s school kits to Vietnam. program on China’s growing church by Miss Ruth Dahlstrand. Next meetings set for November 1 and November 2 with tureen dinners at hosts’ homes.
Corry area events note Monday 4 pm Salvation Army meeting with Robert Piemme explaining current and future special education in Corry Area High School. Other items include birthdays, PTA events, open houses for 25th anniversaries, and a note on a divorce legalization debate in Rio de Janeiro.
