Police Charge Three In Two Separate Cases

City police split two incidents into distinct cases. Marion D. Sager 21 paid two parking tickets at 11 am then was charged with public intoxication after returning, fined 10 dollars plus 11 in costs. In a separate Lorraine Hotel incident Michael P Hayes 20 and Richard J Price 21 were charged with drunk and disorderly conduct after a bar fight outside, both released to answer summons.

Erie County Hearing Delayed In Corry Annexation Case

A Corry annexation hearing in Erie County court was continued to November 1 after Judge Lindley McClelland halted testimony to assemble more witnesses. Victor Orn testified for the Municipal Authority financing the North Hills Municipal Golf Course in the annexed area while Stewart A Long spoke for CAIDC before the adjournment. Roger Ottaway is slated to be summoned as a petitioner.

Dunkirk Crash Kills Four Injures One

Four Dunkirk residents died and another was seriously injured in a one car crash on a city street at 12:45 a.m. Byron Cave 18 Hamp Hooten 25 Karen Wawrzyniak 19 and David Jnadzinski 21 died. Maureen Rich 16 was in fair condition at Brooks Memorial Hospital. Police say the car went out of control, struck a curb, knocked over a mailbox and hydrant, and crashed into two trees. Cave may have been driving.

Corry CAHS to Add Rap Room After Dialogue Program

After yesterday’s Experiment in Communication at Corry Area High School CAHS plans changes. Evaluations show teacher student dialogue favored the program and a rap room for informal talks is eyed. Officials say a planning committee will implement the space to discuss educational problems and upcoming recommendations.
