Remodeling of Lighting Co Block Planned
The Pennsylvania Electric Company plans extensive remodeling of its building on a block in the Associated Gas and Electric system. Permission to use part of the street during work was granted by City Council. The first floor will display electrical appliances as part of a new merchandising plan. Six to eight weeks needed for all work. The front wall holstering requires sidewalk and street use. Company offices move to the second floor during remodeling. A new sub station near the old one on West Washington street is under construction and will take several months to complete.

City Council Blocks New Curb Gas Pumps in Corry
City Council refused Harold Armitage permission to erect two curb pumps on East Main Street and adopted an ordinance banning installation of such pumps on sidewalks or public thoroughfares. The measure, approved on first and second readings, imposes a fine up to 25 dollars or up to ten days in jail for violations. Armitage had planned to move Corry Auto Supply to the J. S. Rogers block, where two pumps previously operated. Mayor Bracken and others opposed granting permits, aligning with a broader move to remove curb pumps from city streets.
