Montgomery May 9 Indications today pointed to Alabama selecting an uninstructed delegation for the Democratic national convention in Houston. Democrats voted on 24 delegates amid a split among anti Smith supporters. Four candidates for delegate at large favored the New York governor while eight opposed him. Voters turned out heavily and results were expected to be unsettled for hours.

Hasbrouck Heights N J May 9 Lieutenant Royal V Thomas famed solo endurance record holder and aeronautical engineer Vaughn Weatherly were killed when their Bellanca plane crashed while attempting a speed flight from Teterboro airport across to a golf course. Recover Bodies of 2 Flyers in Lake Erie Crash
Buffalo on May 9 reports the bodies of Junjis Lapey of Buffalo and John C. Roseetas of Milwaukee recovered from forty feet of water after their plane plunged into Lake Erie last Friday.
