Probers Grill Fox On Influence In 1955 Spotlight
In May 1955 Fox testified about Adams and Goldfine amid FTC scrutiny of Goldfine textiles. Fox claimed Adams planned to “take care of it” for Goldfine, citing past aid to Goldfine’s mills. Adams denied all allegations, declaring the statements false and accusing the subcommittee of hosting an irresponsible witness. Goldfine’s lawyers noted Goldfine could dispute Fox under oath at an upcoming hearing.

Paper Strike Ends but Drivers Yet Idle in Philadelphia
Philadelphia drivers at two major newspapers ratified an agreement to end a 28 day strike, yet the union demanded all drivers return for Friday editions. Inquirer and Bulletin reported no full resumption, with guilds still on strike at the Inquirer and no guild at the Bulletin. Negotiations continue with mediator Paul Yager and Teamsters Local 528 leaders saying ratification was nearly unanimous. The Courier-Post in Camden remains without a deal and unaffected by guilds.
