Ernest Mandell a 27 year old bread baker at the Hotel Lawrence in Erie attempted suicide by gas at the home of Mrs Blanche at 15 East Eighth Street. Neighbors smelled gas and investigating officers found the door sealed with cloth stuffed under it and the keyhole blocked. Dr Roth and Patrolman Doyle responded as police were alerted by Mrs Green.
