Truman Car To Be Ski Lodge In Suburban Development
The silver blue and yellow Chesapeake and Ohio Car 902, used by Harry S Truman on his whistle stop tour, will become a $3 million ski lodge as part of Wildwood Center Inc. suburban development near Pittsburgh. Purchased from Amtrak for 28,000 dollars, the car and a similar one once used by railroad president Roger Toey are in good condition and require only cleaning. From the former observation deck, the landscape now shows brown and black terrain and the ruins of a coal mine slated for demolition.
