Speculation on Parker for Supreme Court vacancy rises

The article notes speculation that John Parker, senior judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, may be President Truman's pick for the Supreme Court. It recalls Parker's Republican background, 1920 North Carolina gubernatorial bid, 1924 Coolidge convention role, 1925 headship appointment, and 1930 Supreme Court nomination which failed. It contrasts Parker's record with later Roberts confirmation and suggests many former opponents might back Parker now.
