Meredith Sentenced to Prison in Maternity Hospital Case
Pittsburg April 27 Dr C O Meredith pleaded guilty in a sensational raid on a private maternity hospital known as The House of Mystery. He was fined six and a quarter cents and sentenced to not less than five nor more than six years in the Western penitentiary. The fine was imposed so that the costs would fall upon the accused.

Barn Fire Destroys Morrison Farm in Sarry Creek
Franklin April 27 Special The Morrison barn on Con Bree hill Sarry Creek Lowtship burned early Monday. Fire spotted by Marl Cozad at 3 am. four horses saved none. One cow perished and Morrison’s hands scorched as he attempted rescue. Large hay and grain loss. total damage about 1600 dollars with no insurance. Cause of fire undetermined.
