Coronado High School honors February Girl of the Month Betty Bruce

Betty Bruce of Coronado High School was named February Girl of the Month in the San Diego area at a High Debbers meeting sponsored by Walkers Store. She received an orchid corsage and was chosen earlier as Good Citizen to compete in the statewide Pilgrimage to Washington by the senior class and faculty.

High School Hepcats Jazz Jam Delights Assembly Crowd

Two jazz bands performed a jam concert at the High School Auditorium last Friday. Directed by Woody Williams of State College and Dave Maxey of Coronado High School, the event raised 25 dollars for the World Youth Fund through Senior Hi Y.

Jr High Barn Dance Scheduled For Tomorrow Night

The Jr High hosts a popular old fashioned Barn Dance tomorrow night March 18 from 7 30 to 10 p m in the Jr High School Gymnasium. Students and adults may join in square dances and refreshments will be served. Children below Jr High grades must be accompanied by their parents.

Forney Represents County YMCA At Area Council

The Area YMCA Council for California Arizona Washington Oregon Nevada West Texas and Hawaiian Islands met in San José March 6 and 7 to plan the program and enact legislation for the coming years. Six hundred delegates attended from the Pacific Southwest area. Max L. Forney Frank Chase and Frank Wood represented the County YMCA in the conference sessions.

Benefit Bridge Party To Be Given Saturday By University Women

The Canada Section of the American Association of University Women hosts a benefit bridge party tomorrow to fund a music scholarship for Coronado High School's top music pupil. Reservations can be made by contacting Mrs. H G Rockwell at H3 5460. A misprint in the Campus stated Friday.

Kiwanis Safety Week Poster Winners Named

The Glorietta School announces winners of the Bicycle Safety Week poster contest. First graders Mary Etta Ward and Sandra Paul, second graders Donnie Jones and Gretchen Stack, third grader Carl Cain, fourth graders Janice Aegeter and Darlene Schatte, and fifth grader Paul Sykes are prize recipients. Prizes will be awarded after Saturday's parade at Cutler Field.

Mobile X Ray Unit Heads To Coronado For TB Testing

The San Diego County Tuberculosis and Health association will bring its mobile X ray unit to Coronado at Coronado High School from 9 to 12 and 1 to 4 p m on Thursday March 18 and Friday March 19. The drive aims to find unknown TB cases and stresses regular chest X rays as the key to early detection. Local committee leaders and supporters say the survey is funded by 1947 Christmas seals and requires minimal disruption to dress and time.
