Two New Members Initiated Into Coronado 20 30 Club

Harold Weber of Coronado Motors and William Metzinger of North Island were inducted at last Monday’s Coronado 20 30 Club meeting. The group also voted to run a dog racing booth at the Boy Scout Carnival on July 2 with members staffing from afternoon to night and prizes for winners.

Guard Armory Not Affected By State Cuts

Maj. Horace Moore, supply officer for the 114th Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade Headquarters in San Diego, said Coronado armory remains unaffected by state cutbacks. He noted $35,000 for renovation and about $8,000 for purchase costs approved last year will not be jeopardized by recent Sacramento reductions.

Coronado Carnival Expected to Be Best Ever

Prizes will be given by ticket holders with tickets available at Coronado businesses and the Chamber of Commerce. A deluxe Hoffman table model television set tops the prize list, to be installed by Alcaraz Appliances. Carnival grounds workers from Cub Pack 75, under Den Mothers and the Fire Department, prepare booths as Laing's Appliances contributes a loud speaker system. Crise says the event will be the best and most successful carnival of its kind in Coronado with everyone sure to have a whale of a time.
