Final plans for Coronado’s big Boy Scout Carnival are set for Saturday July 2 from noon to midnight with a parade at 11 30 am led by radio personality Red Ryder on horseback. Guests can expect a bicycle brigade ride prizes from Mayor George F Neal and a grand television set as top prize.

City Council Rejects Salary Hike Proposal

City Council voted unanimously to reject Chairman George Doolittle of the Civil Service Commission proposed raise to base pay by including the ten percent cost of living bonus plus a \$15 per employee raise. The meeting also approved parking lot access work at Third Street and Alameda and asked state parks for more off highway parking in Silver Strand. The mayor was authorized to contact Orange Avenue merchants about nightly unsanitary letters and the council authorized the first reading of an ordinance code to codify city ordinances.
