Maynard Community Notes Highlight Visits and Events

Maynard residents hosted and traveled this week with visits by Miss Mary Howes and the Howes couple of Neading, William Macy buying a house for residence, and various relatives staying with the Edwards in Malden. The junior high set formed a student leadership team led by Francis Nee and others, while 10 000 fingerling trout were distributed to local brooks from Montague hatcheries, aided by the Maynard Rod and Gun Club. Attendances at Holy Cross Harvard game featured Fred Wilder and others. M Harris and Miss Elua attended the Eastern Star charter instituting in Marblehead, with Mrs Harris visiting Miss Taylor in Marblehead.

Registrars of Voters plan public sessions at the selectmen rooms on October 16 8 to 9 PM October 24 7 30 to 9 PM and October 28 noon to 10 PM to register eligible voters especially women for the November 7 state election.

Concord Residents Plan Weekend Trips and Home Closings

Dr. Charles S. Towne and family drove to Springfield for the weekend while Mrs. Royal Tupper and her daughter Gladys visit friends in Rochester Vermont. Mrs. Cutter plans to close her summer home at Rockport mid October amid coal supply updates advising use of soft coal with small hard coal to sustain heat and save cost.
