Maynard St. Casimir Holy Name baseball opens its season against St John Baptist of Salem at Crowe Park Sunday at 2 30 PM. It marks the first game of the season for St Casimir.
Maynard Cub Scouts held a sports night on May 28 1946 and outlined June events. June 8 baseball at Alumni Field June 9 Play Day with Elks at Alumni Field June 16 visit Camp Resolute Bolton June 22 visit Mr Weaving's Cottage Lake Boone June 25 regular pack meeting.
Exhibit of hooked rugs by Mrs Harold Cowling classes from Concord Maynard and Sudbury to be held Wednesday June 12 from 1 to 8 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church Parish House Concord Tea will be served.

Middlesex Central Pomona Grange met in Maynard with Lexington Grange providing the program and Anne Duclos overseeing refreshments. Children's Night is set for June 13 at Maynard Grange. Maynard Grange plans a June 12 visit to Ayeron. The group notes the death of Annie G Floyde, longtime patron and honorary member.
Maynard resident Virginia H. Whitney, a member of the Deaconess School of Nursing fiftyth graduating class, received her diploma at St. Mark's Methodist Church Brookline during special ceremonies. Dr Carl EN chaired the trustees, Dr Warren C Cook gave the invocation, and Miss Margaret M. Shrader presented awards.
A dance for Episcopal boys and girls ages 12 to 17 will be held at St George's Parish Hall on Saturday evening in June. Youth from Hudson Marlboro Ayer Arlington Lincoln and Southboro are expected to attend. Admission is free and all St George's youth are invited.

Farrell directed entertainment featuring K of C Art Players and Quiz Kids led by Joe Kelley. State Police escorted the Quiz Kids to the town line. the event marked the final sale of this series with plans for a new run next September.
The order of Sons of Italy hosts a welcome home party for discharged veterans on Sunday June 9 at 1 30 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall corner Nason and Sumner streets A victory bond is the first prize followed by 50 gallons of fuel oil and a trothheted centerpiece The committee includes Domenucciaccis Luige Digrappo Palaneta Castrechni Theresa Colombo Patrick Veleno Anthony Castellini and Concetta Castellini A musical program and refreshments are planned
Miss Martha M Koski and Leo L Weckstrom wed in a candlelight service at Finnish Congregational Church last Saturday evening. Rev George Koponen officiated. Guests came from New York City Rochester North Attleboro Fitchburg Gardner Worcester Boston Concord and Maynard. They plan a weeks honeymoon and will live at 29 Elmwood Street Maynard.
Esther Kaupilla daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest I Kaupilla and Robert A Long Jr son of Mr and Mrs R A Long of Dallas Texas wed at St Johns Evangelical Church on Sunday May 26 in a double ring ceremony conducted by Rev Arvo Niskanen. Attendants included Gertrude Kaupilla Mildred Holly Nellie Maki and Matti Laisa and Martti Maki. They plan a Texas home and New York City wedding trip.
