Edward F. Loughlin of 375 Main Street West Concord resigns as chairman of the Concord Recreation Commission. A successor will be named at a joint meeting with the Concord Board of Selectmen next Monday at 8 o'clock at the Town House. He has chaired the commission since its formation seven years ago and contributed to the town's summer program and recreational improvements. His term would have expired in 1947.

Concord Votes to Raise 1946 Tax Rate by Five Dollars
The town of Concord approved a new 1946 tax rate of 38.60, up five dollars from 1945’s 33.60. State commissioner Henry F. Long signed the rate, the highest since 1935, driven by large town meeting appropriations. Valuation rises to 10,785,835 with 2,464 poll taxpayers, 29 more than last year.
