Aid for Dependent Children Opens in County
The Texas State Public Welfare Department began taking ADC applications Friday with local offices in Comanche and De Leon. Applications are accepted Mondays in Comanche and on the second and fourth Mondays in De Leon. Eligibility includes US citizenship, Texas residency, age under fifteen, deprivation of parental support due to death, absence, or incapacity, and living with a specified relative. Payments capped at 16 dollars per child or 24 dollars for multiple children, not to exceed 1.5 million dollars state funds yearly, with 3 million including federal matching funds.
