A local hospital recently conducted tonsillectomies on Howard Rutherford and Irma Lee McPherson. Both patients underwent the procedure without complications and are recovering.
Miss Marie Carter of Dallas is visiting Mrs J F Waldrop in Comanche on Route 3.

Sergeant Wilmot T. Smith of Co Manche was injured in a German train wreck reported by his wife Joy Jean McPherson. The crash occurred when an American Army truck crossed the track ahead of the train. Two Americans and a French soldier were killed. A quick tackle by Smith allegedly saved the captain’s life as heavy timber passed over the area.
Lloyd Gene Brymer, 17, son of Mr and Mrs L S Brymer of Odessa, volunteered in July for the Navy and trains in boats at the U S Naval Station in San Diego California. He left Odessa five years ago for Houston with his parents and is nephew of Mrs J E Burt and Mrs Tom Pate of Comanche.
Miss Virginia Massingill left Friday for Fort Worth to work for Bell Telephone Co. after a month with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dick Massingill. Mrs. Jack Berger and daughter Nancy Jack returned home from Las Vegas New Mexico where they visited for the baby’s health.
