Fire Department Thanks Public For Aid In Charity Softball Game

The Comanche Volunteer Fire Department thanks the public participants and contributors to last Monday night’s charity softball game. Proceeds support the Christmas Fund to aid a needy person at Christmas time.

Primitive Baptist Services At Stagg Creek Church

Primitive Baptist preaching services will be held at Stagg Creek Church Saturday at 11 00 AM according to F B Chambers. Summers Return Home After Visit With Uncle

Cross Roads store residents Miss Bessie Jamnita and Nelda Summers come back from a two week visit with their uncle Walter Gressett in Big Spring. Nyle Jones and son Buford traveled to Alvarado to visit brother Ewell Jones. Peanut threshers are active in the community. Primitive Baptists plan services at the tabernacle this Saturday and Sunday. Henry Drennan and sons J C and Howard spent the weekend in Cleburne.

Local visitors and school life in Abilene area

Gustine Preston Young, attending Abilene school, spent part of last week with his parents here. Mr and Mrs Graham and daughter of Dallas are visiting relatives this week. Mr and Mrs C C Stuteville are visiting their daughter Mrs Fannie Deen and family at Burk. Lula Mae Alexander and Louise Durham, students here, spent the weekend with their parents at Hazel Dell. Wilbern Daniel returned to El Paso last week after a visit here. Cotton crops are fair in this section and ginning is underway. Mr and Mrs Jack Allen of Tyler are visiting relatives here this week. The Sophomore Class and sponsor Mrs Swope enjoyed a picnic Friday evening at the new River bridge and later a skating party.
