W. H. Huett, proprietor, invites buyers or sellers to bring ear corn to Farmers Mill. The notice requests corn in good condition and asks interested parties to contact the mill.
John McInnes of near Mercer's Gap died suddenly at his home Wednesday and was buried at Blanket Thursday afternoon. He was the father of Mrs. T. M. Mag ness of Comanche. The entry notes he planned to do practical nursing in or out of town. Mal Kemp cooks at Midget Cafe with reasonable prices listed.
Up to noon Thursday ginning reached 1,644 bales at three Comanche gins and 2,283 bales were received at the cotton yard. Peanuts move slowly as threshing is delayed by wet weather.

Herbert Fagan son of Mr and Mrs P M Fagan has been appointed instructor in Business Administration at John Tarleton College Stephenville and started duties Monday. He graduates from Tarleton and studied Commercial Arts at UT and has worked as a bookkeeper at the Blue Gin this fall.
A two day rally at De Leon Baptist Church closes with a youth service tonight. At 7 30 the Comanche and De Leon Orchestras under Prof Pat Howard will perform a musical program followed by Dr Forrest Maddox speaking on What is your Life. A large number of Comanche people are expected to attend.
Higginbothams Garage led by M. B. Healer faces Tolbert Chevrolet in Grandbury in a national contest to see who sells more cars between October 1 and Thanksgiving. Winners dine on turkey while losers eat beans and corn bread with butter milk. Healer boasts Grandbury’s pep and vows not to be beaten.

Eight Comanche county boys earned high scores in their year’s project winning all expenses paid trips to the Dallas State Fair. Girls were barred from the trip due to a State Fair Association rule. The group left at 10 a.m. Monday with chaperones Mr and Mrs Barton and Miss Lillian Durham. cars provided by Barton and J B Cooper. They will stay two days at the fairgrounds dormitory and return Thursday morning.
