Four Comanche Boys Enlist in Navy Buddy Program
Robert Louis Stephenson Herschel Lynn Haynie Gayle Ory Beutelschies and William Gene Cagle of Comanche enlisted in the Regular Navy and were sworn in Dallas on November 1. The four join under a buddy program guaranteeing they remain together through nine weeks of recruit training and a two week Christmas leave. They transfer to Naval Training Center San Diego for training and will be eligible for two weeks leave if sworn in on or before November 18.
