Deer Habitat Management In Texas Boosts Wildlife Numbers
The Soil Conservation Service notes that about 85 percent of Texas wildlife lies on private lands and that landowners must manage wildlife like livestock. Key practices include brush control, preserving cover and water, allowing rest to prevent overuse, and wise harvesting to keep deer in balance with forage. The effort is coordinated through the Upper Leon Soil and Water Conservation District.
