Baylor Choir Concerts Highlight Holiday Season

The Baylor University Chapel Choir directed by Dr. Euell Porter will sing at First Baptist Church of Comanche Sunday night November 14 at 7 30. The program includes pieces from Bethlehem Israel trip and a portion of the Baylor Combined Choirs Christmas Concert in Waco Hall December 10. The choir will also perform in Jerusalem Nazareth Tel Aviv Corinth and Athens as part of an Israeli choral festival. The public is invited to attend.

Floyd Prather Elected Trustee on Howard Payne College Board

Floyd W. Prather, an area manager for Occidental Chemical Co., was chosen as a trustee of Howard Payne College at the Baptist General Convention of Texas meeting held in Houston. The selection places Prather on the board of the Brownwood based institution, reflecting representation from the 1.9 million member convention.

Comanche Community Hospital Explores Expansion to 50 Beds

Representatives from an Austin architectural firm studied Comanche Community Hospital last week for a planned expansion to a 50 bed facility with more private rooms. The non profit hospital has run 80 to 90 percent occupancy, is Medicare and HEW accredited, tax free, and seeks Federal grants for building and staffing.
