Stolen Autos Recovered by Officers
Five stolen cars reported last week were recovered Friday morning by officers though the suspects remained at large. A car stolen from Hubbard of New Castle was found abandoned near Lee Morrison’s home after the thieves swapped tires and moved vehicles through Comanche and Newburg. The gang then took Turnbow’s car and Reese’s car before driving to Priddy where two stores were robbed. Miss Ross Hoff noted Dallas visitors as teachers and community leaders discussed vocational classes and club activities aiding farm life.

Family honors Bud Reeves buried after live-wire death
Clifford Buddie Reeves 23 of Comanche, son of Mrs. W. L. Reeves of Austin, was buried Thursday in Comanche after dying from a live-wire accident near Ferris while an engineer with Texas Power and Light. He leaves a mother, three brothers Jack Brownwood George Dallas Moughan Texon and three sisters Carolyn Reeves Austin Mrs. Vasco Lee Comanche and Mrs. Rex Kitchen Beaumont. The Dallas News reports he was fatally injured around 4 p m when contacting a high voltage conductor. he died at Baylor Hospital. City council announces a 3 cent tax cut for 1927 raising relief from a $1.33 to $1.30 rate and removing the women poll tax saving $1 per family.

Two Comanche youths gained recognition at the University of Texas this week. John E. Hoff was elected Chairman of the Mens Council by 1273 votes to 638. William Cunningham won a councilman seat from the mers engineering department defeating his opponent 304 to 1. John F. Hoff and William Cunningham are sons of Comanche residents.

Ambulance Crew Rescues Reeves in Transit to Dallas

Scenic Drive Underway at Lake Comanche Park
Work began last week on a scenic drive along the south bluffs of Lake Eanes. An earthen dam will create a water dip and a five foot deep wading pool near the bathing area. Land was purchased last fall and completion is expected within two weeks.
