Wallace and Vickers No 1 oil test shows oil in place near Energy
The Wallace and Vickers No 1 test eighteen miles southeast of Comanche near Energy produced oil on a 1000 gallon acid treatment under 600 pounds pressure. Initial swabbing Saturday yielded 38.6 gravity oil with water as the well bottomed at 3 378 feet in the Marble Falls formation. The test shows oil shows at depths 3350 to 3378 feet with multiple swab pulls indicating oil and water in alternating runs.

City Slashes Summer Water Rates Amid Campaign Promise
City council slashed water prices for June to September, raising the minimum charge to 1.00 for 5 000 gallons. Rates above 5 000 gallons cost 0.15 per 1 000. Three Killed In Auto Accident Near Goldthwaite
Mr and Mrs W H Ragsdale of Santa Anna formerly Comanche residents were killed instantly when a tire blew out and the car overturned four times near Goldthwaite Sunday. J C Scarborough Santa Anna school superintendent died later from injuries. Mrs Scarborough critical. Dr T R Sealy aided victims. Surviving sons include G A Ragsdale and a son at Abilene Christian College. Funeral attended by W H Thate of Comanche.

A new oil well by R. C. McCarter in the shallow Shrum field near Comanche County was shot with ten quarts of nitro and yields about 10 barrels daily. Located on the Boenicke tract half a mile south of the previous deep test, the pay zone at 620 feet extends eight to ten feet of hard sand in the south extension.

Byron Duane Moore of Brown County, a former Tarleton College student, was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary by a district court jury for forgery and passing. The check for 11.25 written on a Stephenville bank bore the forged name of B. B. Fowler to Charles Hoffman, a local merchant, on November 26.
