Cemetery Cleanup Planned At Evergreen Cemetery

A work session will be held at Evergreen Cemetery near Gustine next Friday May 17. President J B Striplin invites all interested to join the cleanup effort noting its importance to the cemetery.

Jolink suffers hand injury at City Bakery

John Jolink owner of City Bakery sustains severe lacerations to three fingers and the back of his right hand when caught in molding machine. Dr. C W Gray reports gradual satisfactory progress. Twenty five semere were taken on the injured. Mrs Gleaton of Gustine is seriously ill in a Brownwood hospital seeking treatment for about three weeks. Pat Cagle new bank president moves from Brownwood to Comanche home at 907 North Elm. Burks Transfer & Storage handled the move.

Comanche High School Class of Forty Five Winners and Events

The senior class lists Annie Lawrence Rita Lloyd Edward Singleton Peggy Griffin and Dauphine Ferguson as top seniors with diverse school histories. The senior play The Funny Brats drew acclaim with Eloise Marshall and Bill Lane praised. District meet results include Dick Armstrong and Samuels winning tennis doubles and Armstrong singles. Senior Day on April 26 featured Forest Park trip with teachers Miss Harris and Mr Camp and a banquet led by Pat Cagle. A. A. Lam underwent surgery at Blackwell Sanitarium, condition satisfactory.

161 attended the special Sunday night service to hear Dr. Walter H. McKinzie of Waxahachie, leader of the United Days of Texas, who delivered a convincing message. A collection for the cause totaled 169.00 dollars.
