Tarleton Dean to Speak at Comanche Commencement

Tarleton College Dean J Thomas Davis will be principal speaker at the Comanche High School commencement on Friday May 22 with fifty two seniors receiving diplomas. Rev E G Gregory Jr will deliver the baccalaureate sermon Sunday May 17. Annie Belle Goosby is valedictorian Ruth Marshall salutatorian and John Manning Arthur highest ranking boy. Billie Monroe is class president and associate editor of The Chief.

Grammar School Graduation Set For Thursday

Grammar School graduation exercises will be held at the Grammar School auditorium next Thursday night. Principal address by R. C. Ledbetter of the Church of Christ. Program includes processional and recessional by Mrs. Virginia Beever, invocation by Armstrong Cox, readings by Grieg Riegger, class presentation by Ruth King, diplomas by Superintendent W. Z. Compton, and benediction by Roy Brannan.

O H Moore of De Leon and Lamkin educator plans to run for State Representative from the district. He serves as secretary of the Comanche County Pension Club and has long taught in the county. He led the oil boom era activities at Jakehamon.
