Texas Senate Joint Resolution 24 Proposes Judicial Amendments
Texas Legislature proposes amending Article V sections 2 through 7 to reorganize the judiciary. Plan adds six new Supreme Court associate justices, expands Court of Criminal Appeals, creates Civil Appeals districts, and sets district judges with term limits and residency rules. Public vote set for August 1 1927 with opposing and supporting text on the ballot. A $12 000 appropriation funds printing and election costs.
