Prizes Set for Ego Cookery Club Rally in Sidney

Sidney four Square community club forms committees to plan in city. A May 2 egg show at Adams Mercantile will award funds for best egg displays, with prizes of 25, 15, and 10 dollars and special egg quality payouts. Local 4-H members, John Tarleton College judges, and county agents organize the event with emphasis on egg marketing and poultry products.

Benefit Picture Show For Flood Relief At Majestic

The Majestic hosts a Sunday afternoon benefit from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. to aid flood sufferers in the Mississippi Valley. No admission, but voluntary offerings accepted and sent to flood relief coordinators Judge R. A. Luker and Mr. Caver urge strong attendance.

Mrs Ward Returns From Visit As Sister Passes

Mrs R Ward returned from a three week visit to her daughter Mrs Conrad Smith Jr in Fort Worth. She was summoned to Dallas where her only sister Mrs M Mackey died on April 8.

McCullough dies at 78 in Sidney Texas

G W McCullough 80 year old Sidney resident died April 22 at his home. Born May 18 1848 in Wayne County Missouri he married Margaret Hudspeth in 1871 and had ten children. Survived by wife, many children, 45 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. funeral held at Oakwood Cemetery with T O O F Lodge. Oil test by T P Oil Co spudded on Ward tract reached over 300 feet with potential 3000 foot depth to strike oil. Westward oil development continues from Brown county field with interest from several producers.

The Comanche Bottling Works owned by R. T. Wade, recently relocated from San Angelo, opened this week. Wade reports a nice start for the carbonated beverage plant, located in the Ice Plant building and reflecting modern sanitation and operation standards.

Earl Isham Dies After Long Illness

Earl Isham son of John Isham from the Newburg area died Sunday at his home after nearly a year with heart trouble. Funeral at Newburg Monday 2:00 PM with Rev. Busby officiating. Oakwood Cemetery at 3:30 PM. Born July 26, 1894 he married Velma Fisher February 11, 1914 and is survived by his parents two sisters Mrs Jack McCurdy and Mrs Bruce Lane. County Bankers Organize in Comanche County

An association of Comanche County bankers was formed to promote local development. Attendees included B. J. Pittman, R. R. Harvey, E. E. Anthony, Wm. Chilton, and F. E. Adams from several banks. Pittman named president, Anthony vice president, Chilton secretary.
