Harmony And Van Dyke Residents Gather For Local Events

Harmony residents helped on Calvin Thomas farm Monday as neighbors assisted in fieldwork. The Goodwill Club hosted a Thursday afternoon gathering for Mrs. J. A. Wilhelm with twenty nine attendees including Mrs. Henry Stephenson and Mrs. Moore. Nearby travelers visited Fort Worth and a Pompey born Jennie May Bean married Jack Driscoll of Zephyr. O. B. Phillips bought Aberdeen Angus calves at Rochelle for F F A events. Van Dyke School representatives named for Comanche County Meet and local baseball results featured 10 to 1 win over Hasse and a loss to Ammi Tiner and Loys Samuels relatives gathered at Carlton and Dublin on Monday.

New Hotel Long to Open in Stephenville

A three story brick hotel named Hotel Long will open around April 1 in Stephenville. Built by Mr and Mrs Charles S Long the 40 room structure cost over 75000 with C and Oates & Sons of Abilene as general contractors. Wyatt C Hedrick of Fort Worth designed the building and supervise engineering. The hotel stands on the east edge of town along the Fort Worth highway.
