Twenty years ago Tuesday the Knowles well near Duster topped Texas production at an estimated 11 640 barrels daily, after earlier outputs of 500 and 7 000 barrels. Other items note Capt. Sidney High Girls Win Class A Volleyball Title

De Leon Debaters Lead as Teams Win In League Finals
De Leon took the lead in the Class A race as both boys and girls teams from De Leon won first place in the local auditorium finals Monday night. Comanche finished second for the boys and Comyn second for the girls. The Comanche entries were Ory McKinzie and Billie Claude Everitt and for the girls Frances Williams and Mary E Everitt.
Lamkin Wins Class C County Tennis Title Again
Lamkin tennis teams dominate Comanche County events sweeping Grammar School singles and doubles in girls and boys and taking all high school singles and doubles titles except the high school girls crown. Class C champions meet Class A winners for county title matches Friday and Saturday at Ds Leon.
