The state commands the sheriff to publish a summons to unknown heirs of J. E. Milton and related parties in Comanche County court. Four weekly notices precede the April 17 1939 return day. Plaintiffs Birdie Milton Lusk et al seek partition of an 80 acre tract described as 959 varas east out of Comanche County School Land Survey No 41.

Mrs Hattie Coker 49 wife of Cc C Coker local groceryman died Friday after months of illness. Funeral services Saturday at First Methodist Church with Rev E R Gerdonr and Rev H J Sanders. Cowen and Hamilton Wed in Austin First Baptist

Joe N. Cowen and Alice Hamilton were married Saturday evening March 11 at twilight in the First Baptist Church Austin with Rev G Posey officiating. The double ring ceremony featured bride’s grandmother Russell’s engagement ring pattern. Attendants were Joe Cooley and Miss Margaret Hamilton. The couple plans UT study. Cowen aims for a law degree, Hamilton for art.

Mrs. Waring Hosts Luncheon and Bridge Party

Mrs. John D. Waring entertained with a luncheon at her ranch near Lake Eanes. Three bridge tables were set, with Mrs. Howard Kilpatrick top scorer and Mrs. Kenneth Ory finishing second. A three course lunch followed.

Jolly Workers Club Awards Quilt to Proctor Finder

The Jolly Workers Club of Edna Hill met on March 1 for a regular work session. Two quilts were made for Mrs Minnie Sarbee, who hosted a generous lunch. Plans were set for a quilt giveaway Wednesday night with Mrs Clemons of Proctor winning. The club thanks all contributors.

Mesdames Jake Durham and Mrs Walter Durham Jr entertained at Mrs Jake Durham's home Tuesday afternoon with seven tables of bridge. Iris pansies and violets adorned the house. A salad course with pansy favors followed. Mrs Jack Moore won high score and Mrs Bob Stanton second. Miss Mary E Jones received the cut prize. Eighteen tea guests called afterward.

Birthday Dinner for Mrs. J. H. Lloyd at Home

On Sunday March 12 the 70th birthday celebration for Mrs. J. H. Lloyd was held at her home with a dinner, conversation, singing, and games by youngsters. A noon lunch and ice cream followed, and many gifts were exchanged. Attendees included the Lloyds and numerous relatives from Brownwood Gustine Brysonville Mt. Pleasant Soda Springs and other areas.

Mrs. W. T. Gilmore received a surprise birthday dinner at her daughter’s home Mrs. Henry Durham. Relatives from out of town included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Travis Gilmore, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gilmore of Brownwood who attended with food and gifts. Mrs Gilmore learned of her brother George Fletcher’s death, 81, of Normangee Texas.

Methodist Summer Revival Sets July Dates

After a church vote the Methodist congregation fixed a summer revival for July 16 to 30. It has been two or three years since Comanche held such a meeting and members urge attendance.
