President McKinley Assassination Reported At Buffalo
The Comanche Chief notes President McKinley was shot at 4 pm on Friday September 6 by Czolgostos an anarchist about 25 years old and of German American extraction. Secret Service observed a handkerchief around his right hand and the assailant held his uplifted hand as if supported by a sling. The president was at a reception in the Pan American Exposition Music Hall in Buffalo.

Mrs R P Boyd longtime Blanket resident died Friday night in a Brownwood hospital after illness. Born December 19 1869 in Smith County she was 53 years in Blanket. Survived by husband R P Boyd daughter Mrs A R Douglas son I R Boyd brother W M Milton. Services were at Blanket Methodist Church with interment in Blanket Cemetery.
