Mrs. J. T. Roberts Dies at Sidney Elmwood Hospital

Mrs. J T Roberts of Sidney died early Tuesday at Elmwood Hospital. Funeral held Tuesday at the Sidney Church of Christ officiated by Elder A C Ance. Born November 16 1878 in Florence Williamson County Texas she was a longtime member of the Sidney church of Christ. Survived by three daughters Mrs Ernst Teele Brownwood Mrs Carl Walker Sidney and Mrs Wayrie Ward Sidney five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers listed and burial at Pendergrass Cemetery.

Herring Dies in Houston Hospital

M G Herring, brother of Miss Clara Herring of Comanche, died in a Houston hospital on Saturday June 3. A Houston resident for five years, he was a plumbing contractor and a World War II veteran. Survived by wife Mrs Geraldine Herring of Houston and daughter Nita Corinne Herring of Fayetteville Arkansas, plus two sisters Miss Clara Herring of Comanche and Mrs Elsie Brock of Stephenville. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev Charles L McClain officiating.

Apartments Wanted For R E A Families In Comanche

Ten families from the REA program will be in Comanche starting July 1 for two months needing furnished apartments. A C Thomas at the local REA office says the workers will earn good wages and seek short term rentals. Prof A J Sparks Dies At Coleman

Prof A J Sparks formerly of Comanche died at his Coleman home last Thursday. Interment was in the Coleman cemetery. Sparks taught many years in the county and last served as superintendent of the Custer Schools. He is survived by his widow and several children.

Mrs. F M Tiner, an elderly resident of the Van Dyke area, died at her home Thursday afternoon. Funeral arrangements had not been announced as of late Thursday.
