Longtime educator Helms share a life in Texas schools
Mr. Helm taught in multiple towns including Sterling City and Bryson over a 25 year career, later becoming a county wide figure in Sterling County. His wife Mrs. Helm taught many years as well, with notable students such as J. C. Helm Jr. and Charles Thompson. The couple retired in 1949, living modestly on their rural farm. Their family included two grandchildren Janis Kay and Jimmy Jaye.
