Home Works Club Meeting and Quilt Gift
The Home Works Club met with Mrs. Mack Matthews on Thursday. Eighteen members and three visitors attended and spent the afternoon quilting. The club quilt was donated with Duana Dale Matthews named as the lucky recipient. Refreshments of cake and punch were served. Frances Adams of Hamilton is visiting Earl Barnett. Comanche Artist Mrs. C W Gray Named Artist of the Month
Mrs. C W Gray of Comanche honored as Artist of the Month by Brownwood Art Association. A versatile creator, she paints in pencil ink oil and watercolor, makes her own canvases, does woodwork, and restores paintings and frames from her home studio. She studied at Baylor University and trained under Eleanor T. Wregg and Adele Brunet among others.

The Mayor of Comanche Texas proclaims June 1 to June 12 as a city wide cleanup period. Citizens are urged to remove trash weeds and water holding items from premises and place metal rubbish in sacks for city trucks to collect. Seal and attest to be affixed by Mayor M Coleman and City Secretary H R Jones on May 29, 1939.
