Directors and officers of the Comanche County Livestock Association met at the Travelers Hotel dining room in De Leon to select committees. President C M Caraway of Comyn presided as membership finance transportation marketing rules and regulations legislative sanitary program and welfare committees were named with chairmen and members listed. The General Welfare Committee will include the president and committee chairmen. The meeting adjourned subject to the president's call.

Comanche County 4-H members Gerald D. Corby and Ben Clark Dowdey of the Newbury club won ninth place in the International Harvester Farm Accounting Contest nationwide for 1939. State examiners praised their records on whole farm demonstrations and regular 4-H projects, with optimism for an even better showing next year.

Complaint Filed Against Woman Arrested Tuesday
Comanche officers arrested a woman posing as Mrs. Olla Reeves and Family after she collected money by claiming her home burned and she was a widow with two children. The petition, circulated in the business district, asked donations for the Reeves family citing a May 29 1939 fire. authorities found no fire in the county and the woman admitted her name as Olla Totty of Las Mesa.

Frank Wilhelm's barn on his Harmony farm was destroyed by a Sunday morning fire. Lightning is believed to have started the blaze. A practically new saddle and several bushels of corn were among the losses.
