The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Hicks, early Comanche settlers, is noted. Born in Georgia, Hicks fought in the Civil War with the 60th Georgia Infantry and later helped build a large farm with his wife Sarah Redwine Hicks in Comanche County. They raised twelve children, have many grandchildren, and remained active in church and Masonry. Mrs. Hicks died in 1919 and Mr. Hicks in 1926.
