His ashes will be scattered atop Round Mountain in Comanche after cremation in San Antonio. The Choice Baking Company of Comanche installed a traveling cookie oven last week. The fifty by six foot oven bakes about 28 090 cookies per hour, with a five to eight minute bake time. The firm, established four and a half years ago, produces vanilla wafers fruit cookies butter cookies coconut bars and oatmeal cookies and ships across West Texas reaching El Paso Amarillo and beyond with three trucks on the road.

Comanche Plans Fruit and Melon Festival August 14–15
Comanche prepares for the First Annual Fruit and Melon Show on August 14 and 15 with free watermelon slicing, fruit and vegetable displays, and races. Queens from county communities will compete for a festival queen. The Sunshine Boys of Dallas will perform on day two.
