Pedro C. Garcia 75 of 409 E. Fleming St. Comanche died July 9 in a De Leon hospital. Services were at Sacred Heart Church in Comanche with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Survived by wife, three sons, two daughters, sister, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. born 1896 in Karnes City.

Roy Ray Rambo 71 of 102 East Oak St died at 3 30 p m Friday July 9 in a local hospital Services were held at 2 p m Sunday July 12 at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev John C Wiles and Rev James Fullbright officiating Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery He was born April 18 1900 in Comanche County and lived there all his life He was a watch repairman and a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche He married Grace Evans March 1 1919 Survivors include Harold J Hatch Rambo of Comanche Ernest Rambo of Tomball three sisters Mrs Willie McElroy of Baird Mrs Pea Hamilton of Ranger and Mrs Nadine Elms of San Angelo a brother Jack Rambo of Coleman and five grandchildren Pallbearers were Jim Rambo David Rambo John Rambo A R Horton Don Lacy and Truman Hazelrigg.

Heart Attack Fatal to Hodges in De Leon
Jacob Bertram Hodges 60 of De Leon died at home after an apparent heart attack. Services were held July 10 at Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Andy Hudson officiating. Burial in De Leon Cemetery. Born July 9, 1910 in Eastland County he lived in Comanche County most of his life and in De Leon the past four years. He married Goldie Parlee Hill January 11, 1934 at Vernon. One son Lindsey Bertram Hodges and one daughter Sarah Glenda Hodges survived.

Kilgore, a Steel worker Third Class and son of Mr and Mrs Lonnie Kilgore of Rt 4 Comanche, advanced to present rate in the U S Navy during morning quarters. He is attached to NMCB FIVE, a Seabee battalion deployed to South Vietnam Guam Adak and the Philippines, working on the new Seabee camp on Guam.

State health department warns on bedding label rules and flammability
The Texas State Department of Health urges buyers to check Do Not Remove labels on mattresses and bedding as federal standards tighten. Studies show many children's sleepwear and blankets fail current flammability tests and no bedding standards exist yet. Southwest Research Institute tests reveal ignition hazards from small flames, with flame retardant treatments lowering danger in some cases. The department enforces bedding sanitation laws since 1939 to prohibit unsanitary materials and false labeling.
