Eilebracht appointed to fill vacancy created by A E Boyd Jr moving to school counselor. Ben Mieyracht of Fredericksburg holds a PS degree from Texas A&M in December 1970. He is a Fredricksburg High School graduate with Tarleton two years prior to A&M and numerous livestock judging awards. He has served in Army Reserve training and will begin work immediately.

Summer Crusade Services Continue Sunday at First Presbyterian

The summer crusade of joint worship continues with a Sunday evening service on July 11 at 7 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church at E Duncan and N Pearl. Rev. Peb Bohannon of Central Christian Church delivers the sermon. House youth choir of First United Methodist led by Terry Price provides special music. Refreshments follow in the Fellowship Hall. The Comanche Schools discuss the new state immunization program for the upcoming semester. While voluntary for most ages, smallpox vaccination is emphasized and parents are urged to complete the full schedule before school starts, with DPT and polio for younger children and booster doses for older students.

18 Year Olds Now Eligible to Vote in Texas Elections

Secretary of State Martin Dies Jr. announced that 18 to 21 year olds already registered may vote in any federal, state, county, city or subdivision election. The 26th Amendment became effective after ratification by the eighth state. About 11,000 young Texans in Tarrant County can vote. fall registrants won’t need re registration for four years. Registration for next year opens in October.

Baby Girl Born to Calif. Couple in June Arrival

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence George Jr. of Tustin announce the birth of daughter Kelly Lynn Dee on June 22. The baby weighed seven pounds two ounces and measured 20 inches. Skunk Rabies Bite Drives 86 Year Old Farmer to Calm Resolve

Mrs. L. L. Dukes, an 86 year old widow from the Duster community, wrestled a rabid skunk with a .22 pistol after dogs alerted her at 7:20 am. She fired four shots, saved herself, and began anti rabies treatment while continuing chores. Her children and local authorities coordinated lab testing in Fort Worth. She remains busy quilting and caring for poultry and pets.
