Charlie Hillhouse Dies At Hazel Dell

Funeral services were held Friday for Uncle Charlie Hillhouse who died Thursday afternoon June 22 at his Hazel Dell home. Bro. T. P. Whittaker officiated at Siloam Cemetery. Born in Mississippi, he moved to Texas young and lived most of his life in Comanche County. He married M. E. Hearn on August 3, 1892 and is survived by his wife, six children, fifteen grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. Children listed: Bunt, Arthur, Clifford Hillhouse, Arlie Rambo of Dublin, Eargle and Clarence Hillhouse of Gustine.

Luker Birth Announced for Son Charles Floyd

Mr and Mrs C T Luker announce the birth of a son Charles Floyd on Thursday June 29 at Brownwood Memorial Hospital. He is named for his great grandfather Floyd Luker of Proctor. Dr Luker, now in Coleman, is a June graduate of A&M and just licensed to practice.

FSA Plans Picnic Trip For July 12

The Farm Security Administration announces a Field Day on Wednesday July 12 with a farm produced lunch. Attendees will visit three county farms and view products from other program borrowers. Participants should meet in Comanche at 9 30 a m and De Leon at 10 a m.

Miss Jeffer Queen Honored At Brownwood Shower

Mrs. Emmett Evans hosted a Monday morning miscellaneous shower for bride-elect Miss Jeffer Queen at her Austin Avenue home Brownwood. Bridge and forty-two were played on the porch with flowers as decor, prizes awarded to Miss Marguerite Ross and Mrs. Charles Hogue. Accessories included a rainbow shower of gifts opened by the honoree as Mrs. Hilton Burks read The Legend of Love. A salad course followed and out of town guests attended including Mrs. Ernest Queen of Arkansas and Miss Ross of Comanche.
