Farmers Part In National Defense With Agriculture

A. E. Boyd reports Comanche County AAA chairmen that the 1942 National Farm Program aims to conserve soil, aid small farmers, and boost food production for home and abroad. The conference urged higher taxes on excess profits and luxury items, selling defense bonds, and prioritizing farm machinery due to labor shortages. It proposed changing farm payments, preserving acreages for wheat cotton and tobacco, expanding soil conservation, and offering seed and fertilizer aid to low income families with deductions from payments.
