Comanche Plans July Fourth Fest With Rodeo Parade
Comanche opens a three day celebration July 4 with a concert by Hal Collins and his Crazy Gang, a Queen’s Parade, and four rodeo performances. Businesses close at noon for the holiday while county offices host visitors to the new courthouse from 9 to 2. The big parade starts 1:50 p.m. followed by rodeo shows and band concerts through Saturday.

Goat Catching Contest Opens to Young Entrants on July Fourth
Ren invites all children under ten to enter a goat catching contest on July 4 in Comanche. Clarence Albin donates the live goat to be released on the square. July 4 Parade Seeks Broad Participation in County
George C. McKinzie, parade chairman, calls for every firm in Comanche County and as many residents as possible to enter the July 4 parade at 2:00 p.m. Friday. Citizens and firms countywide are invited. He urges decorations but won’t bar entries for lack of them and asks businesses to advertise with banners on their cars if needed.
