Hal Collins with the Crazy Gang opens Comanche's Se cond Annual Rodeo on July 3 at 4 PM with three days of rodeo feats and exhibitions. The Queen's Parade follows at 6 PM on the public square, with a cash prize and queen title. July 4 features old car races bicycle races a Pat Howard concert and a big parade. Four rodeo performances run July 3 4 and 5 with $1500 in cash prizes for top riders and ropers.

Baptists Conclude Good Revival at Local Church
A two week revival at the local Baptist Church closed Sunday night with large attendance and visitors from nearby churches. Seventeen members were received during the revival, with more to join later. Rev. E. G. Gregory led the services, and E. S. Fagan directed song services. Baptisms followed the preaching hour. Tabernacle Work Under Way at Lake Eanes
Monday work began on a tabernacle at Lake Eanes funded by public subscription. Snodgrass and Chaney of Comanche won a 989 dollar turnkey contract for a 40 by 50 foot structure with concrete floor rock piers and a 16 by 24 foot speaker’s stand. The project, sponsored by the Comanche County Old Settlers Association, aims to finish by July 22 ahead of the July 24 25 reunion. Lake Eanes Park draws picnics from across the county and state, filling a long standing community need for shade and shelter.

Stores To Close Here July 4th
The stores will close in Comanche on Friday July 4 and stay open July 3 and July 5 for the Rodeo. Mrs Nell Palmer secretary of the Retail Merchants Association will carry a list of firms remaining closed July 4 and this will be carried in next week’s Chief. It is generally understood all firms will observe Sunday closing hours.

A C Thomas Meets With Secretary of Agriculture at Waco
