History of Cora town and its 1850s county-seat era

Comanche Garden Club Hosts Tea at Ory Home
The Comanche Garden Club hosted a tea on a Thursday in January at Mrs. K L Ory’s home honoring Mrs. O Boggess of Dallas. About 60 guests attended with piano and vocal numbers, lantern slide garden tour, lace table, pink gladioli and sweet peas decor, and mini corsages. Out of town guests included Mrs. Connally, Mrs. Stone, Mrs. Helmick, and many others from Brownwood Goldthwaite Waco Austin and Dallas.

The Sidney High School girls and Gustine boys won the Sidney invitation basketball tournament held in the Sidney gym. Sidney girls defeated Pettit forfeit from Indian Creek and Comyn before beating Priddy in the final. Gustine boys beat Hasse, Comanche, Priddy and edged Sidney by one in the final.
