Comanche County Poll Tax Checks and Local Elections
The Comanche Chief notes poll tax payments for 1947 must be made by February 1 with fewer than 1,000 of about 7,000 taxed residents having paid. It previews county elections including a beer measure February 8 and bond votes for a ward school and city improvements in January and April, plus REA payroll and local civic efforts.
